Product Description
The triple lumen umbilical catheter is used for short term catheterization through the umbilical vein when a multiple access is needed.It is used for TPN administration, & injection of drugs, particularly administration of drugs with incompatible features or when one drug needs to be infused continually at a slow rate (ex. inotropes).
This device allows to reduce the number of peripheral routes needed and so the number of insertions, optimising the infant's comfort.
The secondary functions of the catheter are blood sampling, transfusion and measurement of central venous pressure.
The catheter is made of radiopaque polyurethane (PUR) with markings every centimer. It is equipped with a soft green distal tip to reduce the trauma to the vessel. It has three extension lines with three color-coded hubs to better identify each lumen.
